Shruti has been working on issues of Gender and Sexuality with a feminist understanding since 2011. She has been part of various campaigns, and activist and advocacy forums aimed at understanding, engaging with and speaking out against issues like street sexual harassment, moral policing, control over women and trans people's mobility in public spaces, and legal reforms on sexual violence (post-2012 rape case in Delhi).
She has an undergraduate degree in English and a postgraduate degree in Gender Studies. in TYPF, she coordinates a Research and Advocacy programme aimed at assessing the quality of Sexual and Reproductive Health services for young people. Prior to this, she worked with Nirantar: A Centre for Gender and Education, where she carried out research, conducted perspective building trainings and created resource materials.
