Ali has worked with various organisations before joining TYPF. He worked with the Aga Khan Trust in 2010 and Taleem in 2012 in the Nizamuddin Basti area. He moved to PRAVAH in 2014, which was a turning point in his life when he trained as a facilitator. He then joined Commutiny - The Youth Collective where he became part of the National Campaign called "Bas! Stop Discrimination Right Now" which encourages young people to engage, inspire and act on issues of social exclusion on the streets of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. He also worked with the Diksha Foundation in 2015 in the Kusumpur Pahari slum community in New Delhi. He graduated in Social Work from IGNOU, and is current continuing to pursue a Masters in Social Work.
